When I was eight, I lied about an arithmetic test; five seconds later, I tripped over a curb and split my knee to the bone. At twelve, I faked a stomachache to skip school, only to collapse into an unexplainable, comatose state on the kitchen floor. The doctors at the hospital ran every panel, finding no pathogen, no seizure activity, nothing to explain why my vitals had simply flatlined.
