I Let My Nephew Shout "Bomb"

After my nephew and niece finished high school, I took them to Hawaii.

The moment we boarded the plane, the two of them put their heads together and started whispering.

"You've got the stuff ready?"

"Relax. The countdown's set. Five minutes after takeoff — it goes off first, then it burns."

"A hundred and thirty-seven people going down with us. Worth it."

The man in the next seat changed color. The flight attendant couldn't take her eyes off us.

I clapped my hands over their mouths and apologized to everyone, and spent the whole flight making sure neither of them said another word.
