Abstract

My husband makes twelve thousand dollars a month, net. His father holds his payroll card, and for six years, he hasn’t contributed a single dime to our household.

I pay the mortgage. I pay the car loan. I maxed out my credit cards just to cover our daughter Zoe’s preschool tuition.

The year I was suffering from severe postpartum anemia, my credit card debt spiraled to over eighteen thousand dollars. That same year, his father took my husband’s money to buy his younger brother a forty-five-thousand-dollar SUV.
