Abstract

In my previous life, when my little sister was three years old, she was diagnosed with mild hydronephrosis—a little fluid backing up in her kidney.

The doctor told us it was nothing to worry about. A quick, minimally invasive procedure would fix it.

But after they wheeled her into the operating room, she never woke up. They called it an anesthesia complication.

Later, my parents dug into the files. They found that her pre-op imaging had been swapped out. Her anesthesia logs had been tampered with.
