Outvoted at My Own Engagement

At our engagement dinner, my fiancé’s tight-knit circle of childhood friends started a rowdy game, demanding an instant vote to determine who Dean cared about the most.

The tally came in: ten votes for Bridget, their honorary "one of the boys."

Zero votes for me.

Dean let out an easy, amused chuckle.

"A bet’s a bet… Leah, it’s just a game. Don’t take it to heart."

The very next second, following the so-called rules of the table, he pulled Bridget into his arms and kissed her squarely on the mouth in front of everyone.
