My therapist leaned back, tapping his pen against his clipboard. "Your latest assessment shows a slight improvement over last month. You seem... lighter."
I smiled and nodded. I didn’t try to hide it.
Just last month, after five years of marriage, my wife, Rachel, told me she was pregnant. For a man drowning in the depths of clinical depression, that news was a life jacket. I finally felt like I had a reason to breathe again. Even the eighteen-hour days at the office didn't feel like a burden anymore.
