The year the company closed its Series B and Harrison became the golden boy of the tech sector, he gave me a coupon book.
It was made of heavy cream cardstock, neatly bound in Italian leather. Inside were fifty tear-out slips, each stamped in gold foil: Good for Ten Minutes of Uninterrupted Time.
"Money isn’t my most expensive asset anymore, Nora," he had said, sliding the box across our marble kitchen island with a patronizing little smile. "My time is. If you need me, you cash one in. When the ten minutes are up, we’re back on the clock."
