Abstract

I had always liked to pretend I was dead since I was a child, just because I was born lethargic.

While the other kids were learning to walk and talk, I was learning to keep my body temperature on the lower end, keeping my heart rate under 50.

When we played hide-and-seek at the kindergarten, I was locked in a cupboard by a classmate.

Not bothered at all, I held my breath and waited for death's sweet release. In fact, I was thoughtful enough and adjusted my posture so that I could be laid down easily on the morgue slab.
