The Don's Last Promise

Married seven years, and after my husband Nathaniel broke another promise to me over his new assistant, I set a glass jar on my nightstand.

Every time he broke a promise, I dropped a coin inside.

Ten disappointments. That was the final line I drew for myself.

The first coin was for the anniversary he forgot entirely, all for her birthday.

The third coin was for the date night he promised me, then turned around and took his men to clear out a whole venue for her birthday party.
