The night before the wedding, Mike called, slurring drunk. "Chloe's planned a surprise, you'll definitely love it." The music was loud, and no matter how I called, Mike didn't reply. Then I remembered, he was at a bachelor party thrown by his "girl-bestie," Chloe.
The next day at ten, when the wedding car pulled up to the Miller estate, a dozen banners fluttered in the wind.
“I’ve slept with the groom; ask me anything.”
The fluttering banners slapped me hard like open hands. Whispers erupted. I rolled up the window and told the driver to turn around.
