Three drinks past rational thought, I found myself standing in front of my childhood best friend’s apartment door.

I tried again, slower.

On the third failed attempt, the digital keypad locked with a shrill, mocking chime. And that was the exact moment glowing lines of text began scrolling across my vision, hanging suspended in the dim hallway air like translucent live-stream comments:
