When Waiting Ended

After Silas Sterling and I began our long-distance relationship, he sent me a blind box every month. Each one was his way of replacing the companionship he could not give me, helping us get through the long years apart.

Two years ago, Silas made me a promise.

"Once I take over my family's company, I'll bring you home. I'll make sure you can stand proudly by my side."

For that single promise, I waited in a city more than 1,200 miles away through hundreds of lonely days and nights. Then, inside the 773rd blind box I opened, I found a first-class plane ticket to Sutherland.
