After the Dutiful-Daughter Streamer Roommate Moved Her Mom In, We Went Wild
CH. 04
Chapter 4
By the time the fight was finally pulled apart, Patsy Whitney and Diana Matthews were both battered and bruised.
Cynthia and I didn't hesitate to give Grandma Reeves a thumbs-up.
"Captain of the Tai Chi team. Of course."
"Just you wait."
Diana couldn't keep up the act anymore. She pouted and ran out of the dorm.
When she came back, her face was smug.
There was even a trace of pity in the way she looked at us.
"You won't be staying here much longer."
Cynthia, Skylar, and I traded a glance, and my heart sank.
That night, the student council showed up out of nowhere for a room inspection.
Looking at the row of men and women in suits, I understood. So this was what they'd been waiting to spring on us.
Sure enough, the man in front tilted his chin up high.
"Your dorm room is really something. One person's fee, two people living here."
The next second, he slammed his hand on the desk.
"That's against the rules!"
"Your family members move out today, or don't blame me for what comes next."
Grandma Manning had a fiery temper.
"You've got quite the attitude, young man. And what if we don't move?"
The president let out a cold snort.
"Then, old lady, your granddaughter can kiss her GPA and her extracurricular credits goodbye."
Grandma Manning's expression changed.
Cynthia caught on fast.
"Fine. Then everyone moves out. Including her mother."
Cynthia pointed at Diana.
Diana shrank timidly behind the president.
"What are you talking about? I didn't bring anyone here to live."
The president put an arm around Diana.
"Now you want to drag a good student down with you? I only see the two of you have family here. I don't see anyone else."
I glanced around the room, and only then noticed Patsy Whitney wasn't in the dorm at all.
"You! Her mother's things are still right here in this room. Can't you see them?"
Even-tempered Skylar pointed a shaking finger at Patsy Whitney's belongings.
The president smiled and shook his head.
"I only believe what my eyes see right now, in this moment."
Cynthia and Skylar clenched their fists.
Diana was delighted.
"For the sake of your futures, better start packing."
There was nothing for it. Cynthia and Skylar had to move, gathering up their grandmothers' luggage.
Seeing that I hadn't budged, Diana asked, "Why aren't you packing?"
"I didn't bring anyone here to live either."
Diana's face froze.
Only then did she realize that not only was Patsy Whitney gone from the room, my grandmother was gone too.
"You clearly brought your grandmother here to live..."
I smiled and threw the president's words back at her. "Didn't he just say he only believes what his eyes see right now? Is my grandmother here right now?"
My grandmother had just stepped out to call my parents.
The moment I saw where this was going, I quickly messaged her to stay away and not come back.
Diana stamped her foot hard.
But her eyes darted, and she grabbed the president's hand.
"President, just let them move out."
Cynthia and Skylar took the elders to a hotel. On the way, they tagged me in the group chat.
"Diana's banking on your grandmother being paralyzed. She acts so normal the rest of the time, so Diana figures she can't stir up any trouble."
"Don't worry. They haven't experienced just how terrifying my grandmother can be."
My eyes darkened, and I told my grandmother to come back to the dorm.
That night, Patsy Whitney shot bolt upright, and her scream tore through the entire dorm building.
