I Confessed on Chinese Valentine’s Day—Then the Goddess Cracked My Skull
CH. 01
Chapter 1
When I opened my eyes, the once-empty classroom was packed with people, and students stood all around us, eager to watch the spectacle.
At the center of the crowd were Jessica and me.
I felt dazed and couldn’t bring myself to believe that I had been reborn, returning to the day I confessed my feelings to Jessica.
In my previous life, I spent money on Jessica like water and gathered a group of friends to witness me confessing to her.
Jessica had only reluctantly agreed to date me.
But even after we got together, she remained cold and indifferent toward me.
The only time she smiled at me was when I spent money on her again.
On Valentine’s Day, I paid a fortune to have a bouquet of rare roses flown in from overseas because I wanted to give them to her and repair our relationship.
Instead, I found her younger schoolmate, Ryan, naked in her apartment.
While Ryan and I fought, Jessica picked up a baseball bat and struck me in the head, leaving me unconscious on the floor.
I could only watch helplessly as she threw my flowers into the trash, her face full of disdain.
“Come on, Ethan, confess already. The campus queen is waiting for you.”
“Did you chicken out?”
The voices around me pulled me out of my memories, and I tossed the flowers I had prepared behind me.
“Sorry, everyone. You can leave. There won’t be a confession today.”
After my friends left, Jessica’s face immediately fell.
“Ethan, are you sick? You called all these people here just to stand around awkwardly with me while they watched me make a fool of myself, didn’t you?”
I glanced at her indifferently.
“What’s the problem? I suddenly realized I don’t like you anymore. That means the confession is over.”
After living once already, I had finally figured it out. Someone else could be the lovesick fool from now on. In the end, a lovesick fool always ended up with nothing.
“You!”
Jessica glared at me.
“Fine, Ethan. Don’t come looking for me again, or I’ll never respect you.”
She lifted her chin proudly and turned to leave.
The next second, I caught hold of her purse strap.
“Wait.”
Jessica turned back with a smug smile.
“What? It’s too late to apologize now. You embarrassed me in front of everyone, and I have to get my dignity back.”
“If you want me to forgive you, crawl ten laps around the track while barking like a dog.”
She clearly assumed I would do it. After all, I had made it obvious how much I loved her.
I let out a cold laugh.
“Lady, stop flattering yourself. Who said I want your forgiveness? I bought that purse. Give it back.”
Jessica hadn’t expected that to be what I meant, and her expression changed.
“Ethan, who are you calling ‘lady’? I’m only three years older than you.”
I couldn’t be bothered to argue with her.
“Give me the purse. And return every transfer I’ve ever sent you, along with everything I bought for you. You have three days.”
What was mine was mine. Since Jessica had accepted my gifts, she had to return every last one.
The classroom door suddenly flew open, and a male student rushed in and shoved me hard.
“Ethan, how dare you talk to Jessica like that?”
I took one look at him and recognized an old acquaintance. It was Jessica’s devoted junior, Ryan.
The belt around his waist looked familiar. When I took a closer look, I realized it was the Hermès belt I had given Jessica a while ago.
It was worth two hundred thousand dollars, and I had originally bought it as a gift for Jessica’s father.
