Chapter 4

4,255 words

My bodyguards were on duty 24/7. Within minutes of receiving my message, six massive, muscular men rushed up the stairs, completely surrounding Justin’s family.

Looking back, I was so stupid in my past life. To protect Justin’s fragile male ego, I had dismissed the bodyguards my family hired for me. That mistake allowed him to push me to my death.

Being blinded by love is truly a disease. Even a zombie would sniff my brain and walk away vomiting.

The six bodyguards were all over six-foot-two. They stood there silently, radiating an intimidating aura. The sight immediately terrified Justin.

His eyes widened in shock. He pointed a trembling finger at the guards, looking at me in disbelief.

"Chloe, what is going on? Did you call these guys?!"

His reaction was exactly as I expected. To protect his pathetic self-esteem, I had never told him about my family's actual wealth.

Under the cold glares of the bodyguards, Justin’s tough-guy attitude vanished. He stopped calling me names and instantly softened his voice.

"Chloe..."

Seeing him change his face so quickly was honestly hilarious. How did I waste two years of my life on such a pathetic, disgusting man?

Since I didn't answer, Justin cautiously took a step forward, trying to grab my sleeve.

"Chloe, my mom was just giving you some advice. There’s no need to overreact."

"And I heard you calling the police about a home invasion... You weren't talking about my family, right?"

I smiled coldly and stepped back, letting my bodyguards block him. I made it crystal clear that I wanted nothing to do with him.

"Who else would be the home invaders besides your parasite family?"

"You live in my place, eat my food, and spend my money. I treated you guys like guests, and you turned out to be a pack of wild dogs!"

"I’m giving you exactly thirty minutes. Pack your trash and get the hell out of my apartment!"

My words turned Justin’s face bright red. He stared at me, his eyes full of disbelief.

"Chloe Henderson! I am your boyfriend! How can you treat me like this?"

"Do you want me to break up with you?!"

Brenda finally snapped out of her shock. Hearing Justin's words, she immediately stood tall, chin raised high, looking at me with absolute contempt.

"Did you hear that? Apologize to me right now, or my son will dump you!"

"So what if you have some money? You're just a used, secondhand woman!"

"Once my son dumps you, no man will ever want you!"

I almost laughed out loud at Brenda’s sheer ignorance. I had money, a great career, and an incredibly powerful family. Did she honestly think Justin was some kind of prize?

If Justin hadn't begged and pleaded on his knees for months in college, I would have never even looked at him.

Before Brenda could finish her rambling, I interrupted her impatiently.

"Do you think your son is some kind of gold? In my eyes, he’s nothing but a pile of dog shit."

"Pack your bags and get out. I don't have time to waste on you."

The moment I finished speaking, the six bodyguards took a step forward, towering over Justin's family.

Arthur Miller, who had been silent the entire time, tapped his cheap cigar and finally spoke in a low, gravelly voice.

"Chloe, you and Justin have been together for two years. A young lady shouldn't be this heartless."

"We will leave. But we can't find a place to stay in this city overnight. Let us stay for just two more days."

As he spoke, I didn't miss the cunning, calculating gleam in his eyes.

You think you can play mind games with me?

I smiled. "Sure. I’ll give you two days."

With that, I walked past them with my bodyguards and called a professional cleaning service to scrub down my master bedroom.

Seeing their cheap clothes and shoes being thrown into the living room, Brenda stamped her feet in anger.

"You miserable little bitch..."

The moment she started cursing, six terrifying bodyguards glared down at her. She shut her mouth instantly.

"Dirty woman, hanging around so many men. Disgusting," she whispered under her breath, but her eyes couldn't help but wander around my living room, eyeing the expensive designer decor.

I saw her greedy little glances and sneered in my heart.

Go ahead, keep playing. Let's see what kind of grave you dig for yourselves.
