My Toxic Best Friend Bought A House With My Money, So I Ruined Her Life
CH. 01
Chapter 1
Chloe was kneeling at my door for the fourth time.
Her face was black and blue, and her voice was completely hoarse.
"Harper, please. I’m done with Wyatt for real this time. I just need you to help me one last time."
The first time, I lent her $7,000 to help her rent an apartment and move out.
The second time, it was $11,000. She said she needed to move out of state to start over.
The third time, $20,000. She claimed Wyatt was threatening her and she needed to hire a lawyer.
Each time, within less than a month, they got back together.
And she never repaid a single dime.
Now, she wanted $30,000.
"I swear, once I pay him off, I’m leaving and never looking back."
I didn’t reply.
Instead, I opened her main Instagram account and looked at the post she had uploaded last week—a beautiful two-bedroom condo.
The deed showed two names: Hers and Wyatt's.
The down payment was a cool $70,000.
I turned my phone screen to face her.
"Chloe, the promissory notes all have your signature on them."
"I’m heading to the notary office. Want to come with me?"
