After the hospital chief's daughter suffered a sudden heart attack and fell into a coma, my wife hid the surgery time from me.

She wanted her medical school junior, Julian, to take my place as the lead surgeon so he could get promoted to an Attending. Because of her lie, I missed the critical operation.

By the time I rushed to the hospital, the Chief was screaming at me, accusing me of having zero professional ethics.

That was when I realized my wife had set me up. She had forced me out of my own operating room just to pave the way for Julian.

"If you want to help him so badly, he can have it. I’m done."

Heartbroken and utterly disgusted, I walked away from the surgery.
