Three days ago, my father was assassinated.

He leans down. His voice scrapes like a rusted blade.

“Helen. Go to Silvermoon Academy. As a human. Find proof that the Darkmoon family is sabotaging the peace. Otherwise—”

Otherwise, Silvermoon falls. Darkmoon rises. The agreement collapses. Humans become slaves.

I push the inhibitor into my vein.

The liquid is silver — like liquid moonlight.

Three seconds later, I can no longer smell werewolves.

The gates of Silvermoon Academy open before me.

I bend down to lock my bicycle.
