Better a God Than You

I was the 99th High Priestess to serve the Temple of Aubin. Through a potent, forbidden ritual known as Soulforging, I could rewrite a person's fate in exchange for a fragment of my life and soul.

In the first year we were together, I used Soulforging to save Emile Albrecht from certain death after an arrow pierced his heart. The ritual's toll bleached my hair white.

In our third year together, I used Soulforging again to save him from the executioner's blade. He was named heir apparent. In return, I lost my sight.
