The night before my wedding, while I was away from our new home in Maplewood, my fiancé Ryan Covington’s childhood “best friend,” Chloe Reed, threw a barbecue in our backyard.
She carelessly dumped the hot coals at the corner of our wooden deck.
The flames swallowed the entire house, and they killed the four young women sleeping upstairs.
