I Took the Blame, She Took My Life

I spend three years in prison taking the fall for Dwight Reed, the precious assistant of my hospital director wife, Gretchen Payne. On the day I am released, the first thing I see is yet another Medical Malpractice Liability Acknowledgment.

"Sign it, Dustin. I want you to take the blame for this incident, too. Dwi has a bright future ahead of him. He can't have a stain on his record."

Gretchen shoves a pen into my hand. "You've already served time. So, one more charge isn't going to make a difference."
