My Pup Died While His Father Played House

My mate, Damian Thornwood, is the most gifted healer in the pack. However, he misses our pup's congenital heart surgery because he's busy bandaging a scrape for the pup of Erica Stanhope, his widowed childhood friend.

One day, while I'm packing my pup Noah Thornwood's school bag, I hear a faint sob coming from the little wolf plushie with a voice recorder that he carries everywhere.

"Wolfie, my heart hurts so much. Can you tell Daddy to come home?"

At Noah's follow-up appointment at the infirmary, the healer casually asks where his father is.
