Recapture the Stolen Honor

My father died a Pack hero. My mother took the settlement and bonded herself to another man before the burial rites were cold. Three years later, my stepfather locked me in my father's house and handed his Elite Guard placement to his own son. What he didn't know: my father's old field communicator was still transmitting. I recorded everything — the lies, the conspiracy, the contempt for a dead man's name. On the day of the hero ceremony, I walked onto that stage with his wolf-fang pendant around my neck and the recording in my hand. They never saw me coming.
